Evans, Maurice (Herbert)
(3 de jun. 1901, Dorchester, Dorset, Inglaterra–12 mar. 1989, Rottingdean, East Sussex).

Actor estadounidense de origen británico. Debutó profesionalmente en el teatro en 1926 y obtuvo su primer éxito en Journey's End (1929). Se mudó a EE.UU. en 1935 y fue aclamado en Broadway por sus roles shakesperianos. Durante la segunda guerra mundial divirtió a las tropas estadounidenses con una versión corta de Hamlet. Posteriormente protagonizó cuatro reposiciones de comedias de George Bernard Shaw, destacándose Hombre y superhombre (1947). Su mayor éxito en Broadway fue Dial M for Murder (1952), y fue el protagonista de una producción de Macbeth para la televisión (1961, premio Emmy). Actuó en 17 películas, entre ellas El bebé de Rosemary (1968).
